"At DRS, we believe that disposing of waste is a vitally important issue facing the construction industry. We believe that "green building" is an essential element to Better Building Practices. Utilizing recycled materials in new construction reduces costs and eliminates the majority of waste which would otherwise be added to landfills.

Drywall Facts

Roughly 40 billion square feet of drywall board is manufactured annually in North America. Much of which is wasted. Plasterboard can account for 13% to 20% of new house construction waste. An average of 40,000 tons of gypsum waste PER DAY is being placed in our landfills. Every day. 365 days a year.

Because of such tremendous quantities, the disposal of drywall has become a huge problem. In fact, some landfill sites have banned drywall.

DRS has come to the rescue. Our daily mission is to prevent the unnecessary dumping of drywall scrap into our landfills.

We scrap the drywall and recycle 100% of the sheetrock material we take in.

Drywall Scrapping, Drywall Recycling + Construction Site Clean Up

Our primary business is drywall recycling. All of our services incorporate GeoFriendly solutions in which we recycle as much waste as possible. Even if your job is a "Built Green or LEED" project we can help. We will track all aspects of the job and issue monthly reports to the coordinator on site. Here's an illustration of the drywall recycling process in 4 simplified steps [ see our full slideshow here ].

DRS decided it was time to "remove" drywall scrap from landfills and recycle the materials collected. If you look at the market for new homes in the U.S. over the past 10 years, you would find an average of 1,350,000 homes being built annually. These homes average 2300 square feet per house. If you factor drywall waste at 20% of the square footage, waste for one house would weigh 1.38 tons!

With our services, you not only save money on your hauling costs but you are also helping to protect the environment.

We offer a wide range of customizable services for commercial, residential and private entities in every aspect of recycling construction and demolition waste.
