"Saving the green, saves you green."

The amount of debris we create is constantly increasing because:

Increased wealth means people are purchasing more products and ultimately creating more waste.

The world's population is increasing and thus creating more waste.

New packaging and technological products are often not biodegradable.

The increase in fast food consumption creates waste that is not biodegradable.

Why Recycle?

Because it Matters!

DRS Inc. decided the day we opened our doors that it was time to "remove" construction debris from landfills and recycle the materials collected. If you look at the market for new homes in the U.S. over the past 10 years, you would find an average of 1,350,000 homes being built annually. These homes average 2300 square feet per house. If you factor drywall waste at 20% of the square footage of drywall hung, waste for one house would weigh 1.38 tons!

DRS supports L.E.E.D., a program by the United States Green Building Council and BUILT GREEN of Washington State, a cooperative effort to promote Green Building practices.

We make it easy for you to recycle. We provide the necessary paperwork required for your 5-star projects. We can track your recycling tonnage (see sample below) and overall recycle rates. In addition, we provide helpful monthly reports.

We are members of the Washington State Recycling Association, Oregon Recyclers and CMRA.

The potential landfill saving in the U.S. for residential buildings drywall scrap alone is 1,863,000 tons per year. If all of this material is recycled think of the savings the gypsum manufacturers would have and better yet, look at the material NOT going into our landfills. 1.8 million tons of sheetrock is the equivalent of 1,796 acres of debris that we keep out of our landfills.
